This site checks your solar and then forgets about it. Here's exactly what happens to your information along the way.
What you enter
Your system size, the energy your system made, roof direction, shade and inverter size are used inside your own browser to work out your score. They're never sent to us and never saved.
Your postcode, suburb or location
To find the sunshine where you live, the site needs your rough location.
- If you type a postcode or suburb, it's matched against a list of Australian postcodes built into this site, so it doesn't leave your browser at this step.
- If you tap the location pin, your browser asks your permission first. Your position is rounded to about 1 km before it's used, and it isn't stored.
Those approximate coordinates are then sent to Open-Meteo, a weather data service, to fetch the sunshine figures.
Services the site uses
Like any website, each service below receives the usual technical details your browser sends, such as your IP address. None of them receive what your system made or your score.
- Cloudflare hosts the site and keeps it secure.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits so I can see how many people use the site. It doesn't use cookies or track you across other websites.
- Open-Meteo provides the sunshine and weather data. It also looks up a place name in the rare case the built-in postcode list can't load.
- Google Fonts supplies the typeface the site uses.
The built-in postcode list comes from Matthew Proctor's Australian postcode data.

The site doesn't show ads or share information with installers today. If that changes, this page will be updated first, and the change will be explained here.
